What We Do

The research in our laboratory focuses on the study of arrhythmia mechanisms using physiologically relevant animal models. We are particularly interested in atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrhythmias, for which there has been limited scientific breakthroughs and treatments options are suboptimal.

We dig really deep into understanding the physiology so we can build the best possible therapies. The questions we try to answer stem from clinical expertise in caring for patients with these difficult to treat arrhythmias.

A multidisciplinary team of basic scientists, engineers, clinicians, and a coordinating clinical trial research center creates the strong infrastructure allowing us to explore, innovate, test our hypothesizes, and ultimately return this new knowledge back to our patients.
